I share the joys and pain of having some great cats. I have several black cats, Ivy, Daisy, Grimm and Natchez are the lights of my life. They have provided love, support and companionship to my life for many years now. As I'm typing this, Daisy is sitting behind me giving me her daily morning smooch.

I feel privileged to have been given the time with each of them, and wish that other people will have the opportunity to meet and live with a true friend, through thick and thin.

I'm sorry for your loss. I would be devastated at the loss of any of my six cats. No matter how long they are in our home, they live on forever in our hearts.

You are so right in your endorsement of black cats. Until a few years ago, I always chose only black cats. [Now, our cats have mostly chosen us instead, lol] However, two of them are black cats. One male, one female. They are the sweetest, most adorable babies. Our little boy was on his way to be euthanized when the woman from the shelter called us. It scares me to think how close we came to missing the pleasure of knowing him.

I hope your heart heals well.
